Edinburgh 2018 catchup

Once again the festival last year got away from me and life has conspired to keep me busy and now with the start of the first Edinburgh previews just over a week away (Wednesday 31st July) I'm going to desperately catch up with the 'reviews' from last year's festival - briefly hashed out thoughts based on half-remembered scenes bolstered by others' reviews .
It's going to be a more tame 2019 festival given that I've got a pesky exam to deal with but still hoping to cram in some gooduns.

I was shocked to see Natalie Palamides snubbed even for a nomination from last year's awards, which had a heavy tilt towards straight up stand-up comedy straying away from its lean for the more alternative and daring in previous years, regardless Rose Matafeo was a deserved winner.

Show 28: This Is Your Trial

A late addition and an unplanned trust - I had already booked a ticket for this is your trial for the third weekend but half price tickets and a friend wanting to watch a show meant I was watching this early, though given it's basically improvised I was happy to get another ticket.

To be honest writing in retrospect I can’t remember what happened in this specific show. Certainly in one of the two versions of this show were an American family who provided some good laughs and an American tourist who, I thick, bought an expensive scarf her friend was shocked by.
Regardless, it was all good fun.
